With permission of the family, this is the official donation page for John Doornek. John is a 17 year veteran of the fire department and member of the Wauwatosa Professional Firefighters Union Local 1923. John has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. John has recently had his port surgically implanted and will be starting chemotherapy that will last anywhere from 2 - 6 months, followed up with 4 - 6 weeks of radiation. If all goes well and the doctors are able to shrink the tumor they will then go in and surgically remove the tumor from the pancreas. The doctors and surgeons are optimistic at this time that they should be able to remove the tumor and give John a chance at recovery. John will turn 52 this October. Besides being a great Firefighter/Paramedic, John is an even better friend that has always been very selfless and caring towards others. John has always been there when others are in need and willing to give back at a moments notice. John has been married to his lovely wife Joann for 8 years. John also has three children, 2 sons Jack(23), Henry(21), and a daughter Macy(18). Any donations will help John with medical bills as he moves forward in BEATING cancer.
