Support the family of Daniel Bauer
With the family’s permission, this is for Assistant Chief Daniel Bauer. Chief Bauer proudly served the Rhinelander Fire Department for nearly 19 years as a firefighter and paramedic. On November 2nd, 2024 Dan tragically passed away leaving behind his adored wife of 15 years and their four children. He was 42 years old.
Chief Bauer was the cornerstone of the department, and was instrumental in every facet of department operations. He tirelessly endeavored to improve not only himself and the department, but all of the people he worked with. He was an empowering leader who advocated for what was right, and fearlessly adapted to his ever-changing role within the department.
Dan’s passion extended far outside of his family and the fire department into the Rhinelander community. He coached baseball for 6 years and also coached basketball. Dan invested countless hours into the development of his players. Dan perpetually took great pride in his role as a coach.
In honor of Dan’s memory, this fund has been established by the Rhinelander Fire Fighters Local 1028 and the Rhinelander Fire Department through the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation. All proceeds will go directly to Dan’s family to assist in navigating the difficult adjustments ahead.
