Support for the Honrath Family

With the family’s permission, this is the official donation page for the family of Brody Thomas Honrath, the son of Bessie and Pewaukee Firefighter Joey Honrath of Pewaukee Firefighters IAFF Local 5241.

Joey Honrath has been a valuable member of the Pewaukee Fire Department for 8 years. He is also currently enrolled in medical school. Joey and his wife Bessie welcomed their firstborn, Brody Thomas Honrath, into the world on June 25, 2025. On July 8th, Mom noticed he was a bit paler than usual, a little more sleepy, and working a little harder to breathe. They quickly brought him to Children's Wisconsin, where he was found to be in SVT with a heart rate in the 280s. Less invasive methods of slowing his rate were unsuccessful. He very quickly became very unstable and nearly coded in the ED. But after a few attempts at synchronized cardioversion, he flipped back into a slower rhythm. They have been admitted to the cardiac ICU, where he’s on multiple drips and medications to keep him and his heart rate calm. He is still in and out of SVT, and his team is making adjustments to his meds. They will be posting more updates when they have the time and the energy. For now, please pray hard for the Honrath family during this difficult time.
