Honoring the Service and Life of Firefighter Bryce Jungbluth

The Eau Claire Fire Department is mourning the unimaginable loss of our brother firefighter Bryce Jungbluth. Firefighter Jungbluth suffered a sudden medical emergency on July 26, 2026, after coming off duty. With the family's permission, this is the official support page for the Jungbluth family.

Bryce joined the Eau Claire Fire Department in June 2026 after proudly serving four years with the Carrboro Fire Department in North Carolina. He, his wife Emma, and their infant son, Hayes, made the decision to return home to Wisconsin to be closer to their families and begin a new chapter together.

Although Bryce had been a member of our department for only two months, his impact was immediate and lasting. He embodied everything the fire service strives to be—humble, hardworking, compassionate, and unwaveringly dedicated to serving others. It didn’t take long for Bryce to earn the respect and admiration of everyone around him. He was the kind of firefighter every department hopes to have: dependable, selfless, eager to learn, and always willing to step up. More importantly, he was simply a genuinely good man. His kindness, infectious personality, and ability to make those around him smile left a lasting impression on every member of our department.

Bryce approached this profession with pride and purpose, caring deeply for the people he served and for the brothers and sisters who served alongside him. While his time with the Eau Claire Fire Department was far too short, the legacy of his character, service, and sacrifice will remain with us forever.

Our hearts are with Emma, their 9-month-old son Hayes, their families, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. We ask our community to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as we grieve alongside them and honor Bryce’s life, service, and memory.
